This rose is an enigma. It came either mis- labeled or ... sometimes it’s a beautiful raspberry pink, other times it’s a lovely deep salmon/coral. Who knows.. The same plant can have different colored blooms .. how about let’s say, it’s absolutely off the charts gorgeous! Another D.Austin winner and absolutely knock out in arrangements. Julia Child was ‘family’ here at Rose Story Farm. She had always been a yellow rose aficionado and when she decided she would like her own rose, she wanted yellow of course (just like butter)! She chose this perfect yellow bloom from our test garden. It fades to a warm butter tone and some even say it smells like butter! We think it smells like licorice, but clearly, it’s all in the nose of the beholder. When hybridizer Tom Carruth agreed to name this flower after the famed personality, we created an entire garden dedicated to this rose and of course, to it’s namesake. The plant is a frequent bloomer. In 2006 Julia Child was the winner of the AARS Award.

This is a very unusual color for a rose, particularly an English variety.  They begin a deep dark red with a little orange.  When fully open they are a tangerine color on the inside and yellow/orange on the outside.  She’s a newer variety from David Austin.  Disease resistant, great strong fragrance and gorgeous in both the garden and the vase.

The Leonardo da Vinci rose is a midsized floribunda rose with large clusters of a medium toned salmon pink.  It has virtually no fragrance!  It has been singled out here at the farm as the ONLY rose that qualified for 1-800-flowers… ie it lasted 10 days in a vase!!!!  Spectacular life on this guy. This rose is for artists. Each bloom is unique, both in size, shape and color variation. We have designers who cannot get enough (it's an absolute favorite of mine. Think Dogwood on steriods.) If you simply let it do its thing, it will design itself. Stems can be enormous in length, holds well and the fragrance..... It's ivory, though can have blush or tan tones depending on the season. Its the las rose to bloom in the Spring but will continue to bloom well into February.

Neptune has a true lavender petal with a dusting of deeper purple on the edges. This large, fragrant, double-petal flower grows upright as a plant reaching 4-5+ feet in our locale. Fine cut flower and lovely in the garden.

The little engine that could... This spray rose pumps out the blooms in clusters that are to die for. Tiny pure white blooms (fragrant!!!) with teensy yellow sepals. When you get your pillow fight, expect just that, feathers floating everywhere! Another great David Austin white. It’s a ‘sport’ of Mary Rose, so occasionally will have some pale pink to the blooms. In fact, there can be blooms that are half pink, half white. Choose this rose for white when pale pink is not an issue, or ask how they are cutting to be sure they are cutting ‘white.’ Add this rose to your design work at the last minute possible as the vase life is a bit stingy.
