CONSULTATION

One of only fourteen recipients of the title Great Rosarians of the World, no one is better to advise you in rose related questions than Danielle Hahn. Having owned and operated Rose Story Farm and its 25,000 roses for over 20 years, Danielle understands what it takes to create and maintain a successful rose garden. Her consultation services are meant to help you transform an existing garden, create a new one or rescue struggling plants. Danielle is based in Southern California, with consultation services available worldwide.

DESIGN

There is nothing like a rose. Each bloom is unique in form, fragrance and color. The seasons of the rose are ever changing. They’ve been written about, drawn and painted, sung about, and fought over for centuries. There is certainly a long standing tradition that simply cannot be replicated by any other flower. Danielle's mission is to bring the transcendent beauty of roses to as many gardens as possible.  

Designing rose gardens that are unique and personal to each client is Danielle’s forte. Her intention is to design a garden for you that will reflect your personality and complement the architecture of your home as well as the interior. Roses can, and should be, lived with inside and out. They add significance to a garden and home, and as we grow to know them, they teach us to slow down and enjoy nature’s beauty. 

Rose Story Farm grows 25,000 plants, 250 varieties, and has been in operation for over 20 years. During this time Danielle has become an expert in the selection of the best rose varieties for California and beyond. She is educated in the critical aspects of proper soil and site selection for magnificent heirloom roses. As well, she is certified in the field of rose disease and pest management with a focus on sustainable growing practices. She has designed and overseen the installation of multiple gardens for clients internationally. Specializing in old garden roses with companion plantings, her projects have ranged in size from 20 to 2500 roses.

INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE

With over 60 years of combined rose experience, there is no one better to install or maintain your rose garden than Rose Story Farm’s expert crew. Available to execute the installation of your rose garden, no matter the size, they can turn your design into a successful reality. As well, our expert services are available to sustainably maintain your rose garden using minimally invasive techniques and products that are sustainably made and grown. Additionally, each weekly service visit comes with a bunch of fresh cut roses from our farm. 

ROSE PLANTS FOR SALE

We offer an extensive variety of old-fashioned garden rose plants throughout the year. If you are an expert grower or someone looking to buy your first roses, please email us to help you choose the right plants for you and your climate. All our roses are two year old potted plants in five gallon pots. Despite being a bit more costly than bare root, their success rate is significantly higher and please consider that you will have your roses for a very long time. The benefits of planting a fully mature rose far outweigh the risks of planting a bare root plant, particularly in our very unpredictable climates. Plants start at $68 for a two year-old, fully-leafed out five gallon pot with bud and bloom.

Local customers can pick up their plants at the farm. We also ship via FedEx Standard Overnight delivery. Please note that each plant weighs 18 pounds. For new clients, a five plant minimum purchase is required. For locals we also offer rose specific soils, fertilizers and mulch to ensure you have all the tools you need to grow beautiful roses.
