American Rose: "Designing a Rose Garden"

My husband and I own and operate a fifteen acre rose farm in Carpinteria, California. We currently have more than 25,000 rose plants under cultivation. These represent 200 varieties of roses in various locales on our farm in both formal and informal settings. We have learned that the principles of garden design and maintenance remain the same whether a garden has a dozen roses or several thousand. In addition to my duties on the farm, I design and install rose gardens locally, as well as out of state and internationally.

Inevitably I find that my clients each bring with them a unique set of ideas and individual desires! The obvious first question: how do we begin the process?
